The funeral benefits increased on 1 April 2025
The Board of Trustees has reviewed the death, disability and funeral benefits provided by the Fund and agreed that the funeral benefits be increased by some 15% on 1 April 2025. The new funeral benefits from that date are:
R55 000 - death of a member
R46 000 - death of a member's spouse
R23 000 - death of a member's child age 6 to 21
R15 000 - death of a member's child under age 6 or stillborn

Despite the increase in the funeral benefits, the allocation from employer contribution rate to cover the death, disability and funeral benefits remains unchanged.
View the Fund's Death, Disability and Funeral Benefit Counselling Document on the Funeral Benefit page for more information.

Savings Pot withdrawals in the 2026 tax year
If you took a Savings Pot withdrawal between 1 September 2024 and 28 February 2025 and did not pay tax (or didn't pay sufficient tax) on this withdrawal, then SARS is likely to require the arrear tax you owe to SARS to be deducted from your next Savings Pot withdrawal. This means that you may only receive a small payment or no payment at all (depending on the amount of tax you owe SARS).
If you are considering making a Savings Pot withdrawal in the next tax year (commencing 1 March 2025), it is therefore important that you consider the information provided on the Two Pot information page.
